The company GS Schmitz GmbH & Co. KG produces and sells first-class meat and sausage products as well as fresh products. Every month, 180 employees (in seasonal peak periods up to 220 employees) produce ca. 1,500 t of meat and sausage products at the plant in Cologne, Germany. The company's particular strength lies in the accurate delivery of its products to the food retail and convenience food sector. In order to achieve this, over 24 refrigerated trucks owned by the company and 4 carriers are in operation on a daily basis. In 2010, GS Schmitz received the renowned prize for entrepreneurship by the city of Cologne which is awarded to companies that act with a particular social conscience, are future-proof and economically successful.

Since 1995, GS Schmitz has been utilizing the CSB-System, an integrated ERP software application which fulfils all industry-specific requirements of a modern meat processing company.
