Wiesbauer is one of the best producers of top-quality meat and sausage specialties. Time and again, the company’s numerous innovative products receive awards, e.g. “Wurzelbraten” and “Meisterschinken” or the first Austrian ham premium brand “Wiesbauer Exquisit”. Today, the company, which was established in 1931, has over 500 employees at three sites and generates a turnover of ca. 115 million euros. Wiesbauer is well positioned as regards technology – also because it has been using the industry-specific ERP software CSB-System for 15 years as a comprehensive, integrated business IT solution.

The level of automation in the company‘s three plants in Vienna, Sitzenberg-Reidling (Wiesbauer Gourmet) and Gönyü (Wiesbauer Dunahús kft.), Hungary, is extremely high. The IT infrastructure of all three plants is almost identical, with intelligent i-points along the entire value-added chain and automatically controlled high-bay warehouses. At Wiesbauer Gourmet, the high-bay warehouse also serves as sorting and picking warehouse. A so-called “strang management warehouse” for “hanging meat” is connected with goods receiving. The CSB-System automates exit of the meat from this warehouse and transfer to the cutting lines from where the cut products are moved to the meat high-bay warehouse for interim storage. Using recipe management, which is fully managed via the CSB-System, the E3 crates are then transported to the allocated bin locations following the principle of “random” inventory management. The CSB-System automatically looks for an empty bin location, records it and on request ensures transfer of the crates to the pre-defined target location in line with the FIFO principle. At that stage, the crates containing the meat have already been fitted with a barcode and a label. When the crates pass the i-point, all required information, e.g. crate number, weight less tare, item number and target bin location, is recorded by a stationary scanner and transferred to the CSB-System.
