The Schirnhofer group of companies is one of the largest meat and sausage producers in Austria and has successfully been establishing itself over the years as a specialist for delicatessen from the Austrian region of Styria. The long-established company employs over 1500 people at its headquarters in Kaindorf as well as its more than 220 stores. With the takeover of the company Weiss Fleischveredelung GmbH, Schirnhofer continues to grow, extending its product portfolio to include halal products as well as raw sausage and raw ham products.

For more than 15 years, the modern and future-oriented meat processing company Schirnhofer has been improving the efficiency of its business processes as well as the level of automation in intralogistics and as a result has been enjoying sustained competitiveness. The integrated turnkey IT solution with fully integrated quality management, seamless proof of origin and traceability allows the delicatessen specialist to strengthen customer confidence in its products and to achieve long-term customer loyalty. The highlight of the IT solution installed at Schirnhofer is the integration of intralogistics with automatic item picking which has been exactly customized to Schirnhofer and which allows for smooth deliveries to the company’s own 180 shops, 130 Zielpunkt shops and 30 affiliated companies on a daily basis. Schirnhofer sells about 70 different products in four different product lines, including both its own brand as well as other private label brands. On average, four to five tons of goods are picked each day. This can increase up to eight tons per day, e.g. in the barbecue season, which are produced, packaged, labelled and picked at 4 different lines in one shift.
