The growing trend towards mobile ERP applications offers Eidmann great economic advantages. In the picking area, the company is utilizing the mobile ERP solution M-ERP® of its IT partner CSB-System AG. By scanning the order number on the picking note, the corresponding orders are opened on the MDC devices (handhelds). The picker sees the order line items in the inventory sequence that allows assorting of the articles on the shortest route.

If the picked articles are pre-labelled, they are immediately included in the order. In the case of loose or packaged articles, the traceability information on the respective storage bin is scanned and allocated to the line item. The assorted order is then transported to the weighing station in carrier boxes. The picking note, which also serves as “emergency note for manual picking”, is placed in the first crate of each order to identify it. At the weighing station, the order is opened again by scanning of the order number and all items that have not yet been finalized are displayed for weighing and labelling.

In meat and sausage picking, Eidmann uses the multifunctional CSB-Racks® (special industrial PCs) for streamlined process execution.

By utilizing the multi-functional CSB-Racks®, picking, weighing and price labelling can be combined in a single work step. This eliminates unrelated, multi-stage work processes in price labelling. By integrating price labelling in the CSB-System, all required data is available centrally and time and cost-intensive double data entries are eliminated.

With the help of the industry-specific business IT solution by CSB-System AG, Eidmann is able to achieve long-term competitive advantages and to secure and enlarge its market position. But this is no reason for the meat and sausage producer to sit back and relax. Constant process optimization supported by the CSB-System is to be continued in future.
